Is there visible stuttering or is it more of a "feels wrong" issue?

What kind of mouse do you have? You didn't tell me your mouse. Certainly not a namebrand, but at dpi it shouldn't be causing a sluggishness issue. Are you enabling vsync in your games?

Did you check your CPU utilization when you're not in-game? See if something is working in the background? Also, try unplugging all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse. How full is your HD? Thanks for sticking around for so long. Don't thank me yet.

I'm out of ideas. You might want to try an FnR at this point. It may not fix things but it's worth a shot at this point.

Only other advice I have is not to let people talk you into troubleshooting all your internals. Those are knee-jerk reactions to most problems. If you had an overheating issue, ram issue, video card issue, etc, you'd have larger problems than just having your games "feel" sluggish. What's interesting is that the FPS never really drops below yet the issue is still present. This happens in pretty much all games which range from newer ones Bioshock infinite, Titanfall, Doom eternal, Resident Evil to older ones World of Warcraft, Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Portal 2.

In some games, the problem is less noticeable while in others it gets really damn bad. It seems to be enabled in display settings, my monitor settings and nvidia control panel.

Thank you so much for helping me out btw! Might be tearing because your GPU is sending too many frames to your monitor. V-Sync usually produces no difference and even makes the problem a lot worse in some games. The thing is, I don't really see tearing. The problem more looks like a combination of crazy input delays and stuttering. I tried recording but the stuttering is not quite evident from the video. I also can't really showcase the input lag that I feel with my mouse.

Ok so I'm new to posting threads on the internet so please tell me if there are any better websites I could ask this question on.

So this is a problem I've had for a long time and it's driving me crazy. I've had this same issue with all the electronics I've bought.

When I play games it feels like it's laggy even though the fps counter reports more than fps and I'm not sure if it's just me having ocd or if my computer actually has a problem because the game feels responsive as expected with high fps but when I move my head around it doesn't feel smooth. So let me explain my history with this issue and I'm gonna mainly focus on Minecraft as that's the game I play the most. I first got my gaming laptop which I don't remember the exact specs of but it's GPU was a gtx ti and it had an i7 not sure which one8gb RAM and a hz monitor and that thing gave me fps while playing in Minecraft servers like hypixel and it felt laggy after a week.

Then I returned that and got another gaming laptop with a gtx16gb RAMa 60hz display and an i7 8th gen and that one gave me fps in servers and it felt fine during the first week but then I started feeling that it wasn't smooth. So I returned that and decided to build a desktop, and so I did and that's the computer I currently have. It has a gtxan i716gb ddr4 mhz RAM and a 75hz display and it runs all my games at a great fps.

Minecraft now runs at fps while I'm inside a game in servers like hypixel, all my other games run at above fps and for the first month I didn't have any issues at all, but after using it for a month, I started noticing that Minecraft was not running as smoothly even thought it was still at an average of fps.

Then I checked Fortnite and it felt even worse, csgo didn't feel as bad and I could barely notice it in gta v. Now here's my analysis, it could be related to refresh rate even though I have no idea how I ussually won't notice it the first month.

I'm not sure about my hz laptop I didn't change it's refresh rate to in settings like I did for my 75hz monitor as I didn't know I had to do that back then but I'm pretty sure laptops are automatically set to highest refresh rate by manufacturer. Second thing could be microstutters, the discription of microstutters kind of fits my situation but I'm not sure as I wouldn't call it a stutter since it just feels different.

Third thing could be me having ocd as I ussually don't notice these issues within the first week of using my new computer but then my expectations somehow go higher and I notice them.

Another thing that you might need to know in order to help me is that my new desktop feels alot better than the laptops however I still cannot call it smooth when I'm inside a hypixel skywars game and I'm jumping and looking around. Also, when I set my frame cap to less than fps in Minecraft it feels really laggy, it's still responsive but frames look laggy, but when I put it back on unlimited it looks alot better but as I said it still doesn't feel flawlessly smooth as expected with fps.

Did this solve your problem? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. Hi Mario! I am Kenny, Independent Advisor. Thanks for letting us know about this issue. It sounds like you have a stuttering issue affecting your game experience and I note you have already tried looking at the nVidia Control Panel settings.

Please note the stuttering is not caused by monitor hardware and I will assist you to get to the bottom of this. To do this, type "geforce experience" in your Windows start menu, and launch the application. GeForce Experience will be installed alongside the latest drivers. Once you have opened GeForce Experience, let it have a few moments or minutes to scan your installed games.

For an existing driver installation, it will also prompt on-screen if there is a newer driver version available. Find the listing for Fortnite and see if the game settings are optimized. If no, simply click on the bright green Optimize button on the right, as shown in my screenshot below.

This will tweak the in-game graphics options to a setting which runs better for your hardware specifications. After optimizing the game in GeForce Experience, launch Fortnite and see if it runs any better. For a final round of optimization to suit your own preferences, always visit the in-game graphics menu.

Happy gaming! Let me know if you need further assistance. I've been a gamer since and have been building and tweaking PCs with many, many generations of hardware, from the days of 3Dfx to today's Titans.

Thanks for the advice, I'll do that! You need to open settings, update drivers then go to game settings and set it to maximum settings.

Then retry I'll do that, thanks! Just did what you said, this is how it optimized my settings and it stays constant 60 fps i capped it but the game still feels laggy. I have the latest drivers, turned off the things you told make the games lag. October 6, Due to high volumes, response times in the community may be delayed over the next few days. Hello, I have been experiencing a problem with my gameplay. For example I'm playing Fortnite and I usually cap my FPS to 60 because I have a 60hz monitor and it doesn't go any lower, but my game is still feeling like 30 fps.

I don't understand where the problem is coming from.I have tried disabling all addons, makes no difference. I have tried repairing the game files, updating drivers, addons etc.

No difference. This is a fresh install of both Windows and Game, running on a high spec machine. I left TaskManager running always on top view while in-game to monitor this, and my PC usage is as follows….

Try to remove your addons from interface folder and change name of WTF folder to WTFold, it will disable addons completely, disabling them on character screen is not really disabling addons. The system is still the same as always. You would have to visit the page you got the addon from and update it from there, or redownload the newest version. Basically I removed the tick in the box for core 0. On a side note, all addons, drivers and system are up-to-date. Nothing worked until I changed the affinity settings.

Had upgraded my GFX card like half a year ago and didnt feel like i was getting the same fps and smoothness as some of all the streamers ive been watching, now with this fix my stutter is gone and my avg. That is how WoW is programmed, it uses one main core and a bit of some others.

WoW ist CPU-limited most of the time, especially when there are many players on the screen. Check your CPU usage, it looks like processor is bottlenecking. Hello Azoth, The system is still the same as always. I hope this helps other people.
